Dates: 21 Nov - 1 Dec 2010
Exactly Where: The 4 star Indian Resort on the south western corner of the island in the beautifully unspoiled region of Le Morne. To find out more about Mauritius click here.
Exactly what: general skills and wave-sailing.
Equipment: hiring from Club Mistral on site
Standard Required: The sailing area can genuinely cater for a huge range of abilities - just note the following:
For the 'general skills' course (i.e inside the reef on the lagoon): you need to be using a harness and planing on a sub 120 litre board. You should be well on the weay to waterstarting (but the lagoon is a great place to learn or improve waterstarts!)
If you want to sail the waves on the reefs, you naturally must be a 100% waterstarter, able to sail a sub 90 litre wave board, a strong swimmer and confident around breaking waves.
About the clinic: there’s nothing we can’t do. Shallow, sheltered lagoons and outer reefs allow us to cover every move in the book from waterstarts to loops and bottom turns. The wind blows all day so there will be plenty of opportunity for individual attention.
Over the course you'll get 10 days of tuition. Believe me, you'll be glad of the break!
